Since 1997 Global Health Volunteers has been committed to providing health care and education to those most in need in Guatemala. Fifteen team members, including family practice physicians, registered nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists and interpreters, traveled to Esquipulas, Guatemala on April 13.
Over the course of the two-week Mission, the Global Health Volunteers' team members were warmly greeted in twelve remote villages throughout southeast Guatemala. The over 1,100 men, women and children who were served greatly appreciated the health services and patient education provided by the team in collaboration with our in-country partners.
It is always a privilege to serve the people with experience of poverty in Guatemala and we look forward to returning next year to continue our relationship.
