Every January, a team of volunteers travel to Kingston, Jamaica to provide health care and education to the community.
Over the course of this 12-day mission, the 2018 Jamaica team treated 505 patients in the rural communities of Braes River and Santa Cruz and in these Kingston neighborhoods: Ferry, Riverton, and Whitfield Town. The team also traveled to Charles Town for the first time and served 105 Jamaican Maroons, Africans who escaped from slavery on the island of Jamaica and established free communities. Although the maroons in Jamaica are to an extent autonomous and separate from Jamaican culture, the Global Health Jamaica team noted their overall healthy lifestyle.
We are privileged to serve the communities of Jamaica since the year 2000.
